well we're here but not good at blogging....apparently

Sorry our blog posts are all backed up.
And we can't post pictures til we get some technology straight.
Also, I can't figure out how to correct my misspelling on this blog name.
I can't figure out how to change my former missionary name (Sister Miller) to "Sister Williams" when I write these posts - but then, some of my Trinidadian friends here also forget that Gordon is not Elder Miller!

That will take some time to get used to.

But fortunately I still remember how to cook! which seems to be greatly appreciated by the young missionaries, who haven't had a senior couple here for some time.

We had a great District Meeting with 4 young elders this morning who sure know their stuff! We are so impressed with their goodness and desire to do what's right. I love the Preach My Gospel book we teach from now.  In 229 inspired pages it covers all anyone could ever want to know about why the gospel needed to be restored in these latter days, and how that came to be.

On another note Elder Williams thought he'd save 5 minutes yesterday by driving to the south PriceSmart (Costco-type big grocery store) instead of the eastern one that Sister Williams thought we'd agreed on. Turns out, some shortcuts take hours to repent of! I bet he could make a great talk out of that experience... :)

We miss spring in Alberta; we miss & love "you'all"; but we are sure having the adventure of a lifetime...

    Hahaha. Even tho you may or it may not have said I've told you so I'm sure without a word being said he felt it. Haha. It really was a great learning moment tho in more than one ways

Jackie's late husband Grant Miller (oldest son of Rex and Joyce Miller) grew up in Cardston, Alberta, Canada with Gordon (oldest son of BY and Mary Williams). Gordon's late wife Jean Kay Edmunds was from Los Angeles, California. Gordon and Jean married in 1971 and had 3 daughters together. Both our late spouses had testimonies  of and an appreciation of missionary work for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Memorably, Jean Kay had lived with her parents in Belgium for 3 years from ages 16-19 when her father served as the LDS Mission President there.  Gordon served as a youth in the Gulf States mission. He worked on the family cattle ranch, graduated from Ricks College and BYU, and later taught Farm Management Education in Alberta. This week at the MTC we said good by to some really good friends that we didn’t know until we got here. Monday through Thursday early pm was Office training.   We (Jackie & I ) worked in different rooms on different subjects. I covered the ‘CARS’ , Pos & Financial while Jackie worked on the communications functions of the Mission Office. Tuesday   Elder Neil Anderson, an Apostle, spoke at the Missionary Fireside and then shook hands with those close to the front, which included Jackie & I because we were early and got front row seating.   How did we get front row seating and were early? I think you all know the answer to that. We got a discouraging update on our Visa’s which now we’re told are not there and may never be there. We’re being sent into Trinidad to close the apartments of past missionaries, Mission home leases and sell the furniture, sell the 12 vehicles and close missionary apartment leases.
